I've always loved the look of little Scandinavian coastal villages, with their simple white houses, rocky shores, and everyday life happening right by the water. I imagine what it must be like to live in a place like this, where the sea is just outside your door.
I painted this scene with that feeling in mind, using soft blues and grays to give it a slightly dreamy, nostalgic mood.
